Volunteer

I'm a paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. I’m a great place for you to tell a story and let your users know a little more about you.

Kew Toy Library relies on volunteers for a large portion of our work - whether it is for library session roster duty, events, fundraising, working bees or becoming a committee member, we are always looking for additional help.

Consider volunteering for just four hours (2 x two hour sessions) a year, so we can continue to provide this valuable community service. Volunteers are welcome to bring their children who can play with the toys while you work. Along with our very knowledgeable Toy Library Coordinator Ayse, you will have plenty of support!

Volunteer sessions can be completed at the toy library during opening hours, at fundraisers, special events or working bees.

If you do not think you will have the time to complete the two sessions, you can pay a $60 roster exemption levy instead.

What's involved?

Library session roster duty:

  • assessing and cleaning toys

  • organising shelves and displays

  • labelling new toys

  • welcoming members and potential new members.

Benefits of volunteering at library sessions

  • Being able to borrow toys as soon as they are returned

  • seeing the range of toys available easily

  • ability to borrow 2 extra toys on top of membership limit

  • your roster duty levy is refunded (partial or in full depending on activities completed by the end of your membership year).

Nominate yourself for roster duty by logging-in to your SETLS account.

Events and working bees

We always need an extra pair of hands, whether it's helping at a stocktake, or a Bunnings BBQ!
