Your Kew Toy Library committee needs your ideas, passion and skills

As part of the Kew Toy Library community, we are all passionate about providing children with opportunities to play and learn through play. Your passion has the potential to also drive and benefit local families, as a member of the new Kew Toy Library committee.

By joining our new committee, you’ll be giving local children access to toys that assist them to learn and grow. Without our committee the Kew Toy Library couldn’t continue to provide the quality service which our members enjoy.

So, if you’re passionate about play, are keen to contribute to your local community and want to see the Kew Toy Library succeed, please contact us!

We are currently looking to fill a large range of roles including:

President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, MCHN Co-ordinator, Fundraising, Communications, Marketing, Grants, IT and Events.

“I moved to this part of Melbourne and joined the Kew Toy Library straight away after having been a member of my previous local toy library. Not long after, I joined the KTL committee as a way to meet other families in the area and to utilise my skills to improve a community service.
It has been a pleasure working together with a wonderful, supportive and enthusiastic group of parents and in doing so, building friendships and having fun. It has been extremely rewarding to see the direct benefit of our contributions in the growth and success of our toy library.
As President, my role is to oversee the committee and our employee and ensure the toy library continues to provide a great service to our members.”
Esther Brakey - President

Toy Library promotional video – help needed!

If you’re a pro at creating videos we would love your help to promote the Kew Toy Library.

We’re looking to create a short promotional video (similar to this one) giving potential members a virtual tour of our library and overview of what it is all about.

If you have the skills, time and are interested in helping Kew Toy Library reach a wider audience please email president@kewtoylibrary.org.au, we would love to hear from you.

Age: 5+ (with some maths assistance)

Want to do some sneaky maths with your kids while they think they are having fun? Do you have kids who are into princesses? Then look no further than Sleeping Queens, a nifty little game designed by a 6-year-old girl, where your aim is to be the first person to “wake up” 5 queens by playing kings.

It’s mostly luck-based, easy to learn and can be played in half an hour, making it an ideal post-dinner game. The maths comes in the form of making mini equations to cycle through your cards – littlies may need help with this.

Grants for new active and baby toys, thanks to Forest Hill Foundation and Bendigo Bank

We are thrilled to announce that Kew Toy Library have been successful in their grant applications for both the Forest Hill Foundation and Bendigo Bank Kew East Branch.

Forest Hill Foundation have kindly provided $5,000 for the purchase of active toys and Bendigo Bank have donated $1,000 toward the purchase of baby toys.

Do you have active or baby toys you would like to see at Kew Toy Library? Email Ayse at info@kewtoylibrary.org.au with your ideas.
